Overview

USS Rafael Peralta is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer equipped for fleet air defense, ballistic-missile defense, land attack, anti-submarine warfare, and surface combat.

Technical basis

The ship combines the Aegis combat system and phased-array radar with a 96-cell Mk 41 vertical-launch system, a 5-inch gun, torpedoes, close-in defensive weapons, embarked helicopters, and long-range networked sensors.
