UNS Judgement

Fictional CNSA-origin nuclear-thermal cargo ship.

UNS Judgement is an open-bay cargo spacecraft that becomes the engineering and precision-energy platform of the first Mine-response fleet.

Real-world basis

Its deep-space transportation architecture is grounded in nuclear thermal propulsion and interoperable docking standards. What distinguishes the ship is not a fictional propulsion breakthrough but its cargo arrangement: an open bay can carry and service industrial hardware never designed as an integral spacecraft system.

Mapmakers development

During the Mine response, Judgement carries one dismantled SinterBeam lunar construction system. The ship supplies continuous electrical energy, thermal support through its liquid-hydrogen infrastructure, spacecraft pointing, and tracking support; the SinterBeam package retains its own emitter, heavy battery, power electronics, controls, and fine pointing hardware. The crew informally calls the converted ship “The Battleship.”
