Radical Defense 50 FVS

The 50 FVS is a large-bore suppressor architecture developed by Radical Defense for the M2 family of .50-caliber machine guns.

Technical basis

The design uses additive manufacturing and forward venting to reduce muzzle blast, flash, ground disturbance, and blast overpressure around the gunner while limiting the back-pressure effects that can alter automatic-weapon operation. Later Radical Defense designs publicly identify the 50 FVS as their architectural predecessor.

In The Mine

The MARCOS Kismayo assault boats fit 50 FVS suppressors to their FN M2HB-QCB bow guns. On a small open craft, reducing the pressure and flash environment around the heavy machine gun is more important than any expectation of making it quiet.
