M250
The U.S. Army’s belt-fed 6.8×51-millimeter Next Generation Squad Weapon automatic rifle, developed to replace portions of the M249 inventory.
Light machine gun / automatic rifle · Real-world system · U.S. Army fielding began in the 2020s

Technical basis
The M250 uses the Army’s 6.8×51 mm cartridge and a lightweight belt-fed architecture. In The Holy Land, heavy U.S.-provided hostile-space-clearing robots carry M250s because the weapon offers more ammunition and persistence than the compact spiderbots’ single-shot systems.
