Fictional rotating deep-space yacht grounded in artificial-gravity and radiation-shielding physics.
Domus Astrorum—“House of the Stars”—is a private long-duration yacht and executive headquarters near the Mine. The broad three-deck habitat is approximately forty meters across and carries an unusually large mass of lunar water shielding.
Real-world basis
Rotation can create an apparent gravity field through centripetal acceleration, while hydrogen-rich materials such as water are useful for reducing charged-particle radiation exposure. Both principles are well-established even though no inhabited spacecraft of this scale exists today.
Mapmakers development
The yacht hangs roughly five kilometers from the rotational center opposite a larger iron counterweight, producing about 0.54 g at the occupied structure. Approximately 2,000 tonnes of water are distributed through many cells around the habitat for radiation shielding and thermal mass. The result obtains artificial gravity and protection through ordinary mass, geometry, and rotation rather than fictional gravity generation.
