Real-world organization depicted in fiction
China Coast Guard
A real Chinese maritime law-enforcement service appearing in the fictional Taiwan crisis.
Meaning in the series
The Strait of Fire places maritime law enforcement alongside naval and military activity. The China Coast Guard should not be confused with the People’s Liberation Army Navy or with an invented Mapmakers institution.
